Let's Rewind.

I think it's always this time of year when people start realising that summer is fast approaching - and all the food we consumed over Easter may be lingering around a little more than we'd wanted.
But it's also that time of year where a sense of hope, of new beginnings and the smell of daisies is in the air. It is for me anyway.
After my injury mishap in February, having to give up running for two months straight almost killed me. No amount of spin classes, boxing sessions and HIIT workouts could produce the runner's high that I had been so desperately craving.
With deadlines done and so much good weather blessing us - I told myself that this was a sign: my body was ready to run again.
This time, though, I was going to be smart.
For a week now, I have been working on roughly 3.5km a day - followed by a half-hour core and leg workout to ensure that I keep strengthening those muscles. If there is anything that my Physio has taught me, it's that leg muscle is essential in order to building stamina, to cover long distances, and most of all to relieve pressure from your precious knees.
Rewinding to 3.5km a day is hard when your legs had been covering distances up to 18km.
But the important thing is I have started again. Rewinding is an important factor in ultimate success. Don't be afraid to start small.
One day the small will be so big that it won't matter anymore.
